According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, the vehicles were stolen on Sundays when people were attending church services and the cases are increasing.

“The affected areas are Hillcrest, Pinetown and Westville. Police would like to appeal to the people attending churches in the affected areas to ensure that their vehicles are locked properly or employ car guards to look after their vehicles,” said Manqele.

He said some of the vehicles that were fitted with tracking devices were recovered in the eThekwini Inner North areas.
