Five dead, four injured in horrific N3 crash

Three males and two females were declared dead at the scene while paramedics rushed to free the other four trapped commuters.

FIVE people died and four others were injured when two vehicles collided on the N3, northbound near Shongweni yesterday evening.

Ceron Lennox, operations manager at Rescue Care Paramedics described the scene and said they were met with “absolute carnage”.

“Multiple people were scattered on the road and some people were trapped in the vehicles,” said Lennox.

 

 

Five people, three males and two females, were declared dead on scene.

Advanced Life Support paramedics were called to the scene to assist with stabilising the trapped commuters  until they were freed with the Jaws of Life.

They were then taken to hospital.
