With faith women can move mountains

WITH the purpose of creating more female role models within Africa, Maureen Thavatiah started an empowerment hub to nurture and raise powerful women.

Women Working The Word In Africa is a forum, based in Queensburgh.

It’s a social impact and empowerment hub that started in May 2012.

The forum’s main focus is the healing, restoration and re-integration of women into society especially from disadvantaged and broken backgrounds.

“We also see ourselves a local and national indigenous solution for implementing various training and development interventions such as inter-generational camps, healing retreats, workshops, feeding schemes, group and individual counselling sessions, hamper drives, rehabilitation, educational and business forums,” said the passionate pastor of Restoration Covenance Ministries.

Maureen said women in South Africa always have to fight to be heard, mainly because they are not valued as much the Bible values women.

She encouraged women to come as they are and learn from the women in the forum.

“At Women Working The Word, women from various walks of life have an opportunity to be enriched by journeying back into the conference room of heaven to uncover new insights into the real spiritual identity of women by unpacking the mandate of Eve. We are also honoured to have a dynamic full female worship team led by very young women,” she said.

Maureen hopes to break down the moulds of religion and race to build a stronger nation of women who trust each other.

The ultimate goal of Women Working The Word In Africa, is to develop an army of powerful, confident and authentic women who are enabled to confront and conquer any challenge that the earth realm may hurl at them.

These women will ultimately be able to position themselves singularly or corporately as an empowerment hub to many others with a visible impact of reducing the crime rate, stabilising families and creating jobs.

“Being a diverse group of women as such, our roles as a responsible and caring citizen of South Africa must also been seen through our support to national issues such as unemployment, HIV/aids, cancer, and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, orphans, children and the elderly.

“We are excited to host our final WWW.IA Forum for 2017 on 18 November at 2pm at Restoration Covenance Ministries, 484 Main Road, Escombe, Queensburgh.

All women, from 16 years and upwards, are welcome,” said Maureen.
