LISTEN: Two men killed in M7 crash

The driver and a passenger were ejected from the taxi. The occupant of the vehicle ended up on the roadway and a light motor vehicle struck him and dragged him down the road.

TWO men suffered serious injuries and died after the taxi they were traveling in, on the M7 Durban bound before Hans Dettman offramp, lost control and overturned, rolling several times just after 7pm today.

Garrith Jamieson, spokesman for Rescue Care said paramedics declared the two occupants deceased on scene.

“A single taxi rolled over. The driver and a passenger were ejected from the taxi. The occupant of the vehicle ended up on the roadway and a light motor vehicle struck him and dragged him down the road. He was stuck under the vehicle.

“With the help of a breakdown vehicle, the vehicle was lifted up and the Durban Fire Department extricated the man. Both men sustained extensive injuries and were also declared deceased by paramedics. No other injuries were reported on scene,”  said Jamieson.

SAPS were in attendance and will investigate the case.
