Durban officially best city in SA to live in

Durban ranked 88 out of the 150 global cities surveyed in the Knight Frank Global Residential Cities Index.

ACCORDING to the latest Knight Frank Global Residential Cities Index, Durban is officially the best city in South Africa to live in, the Northglen News reported.

The index report, which tracks the performance of house prices across 150 cities worldwide, is updated quarterly and the latest report was released mid-October.

Residential property prices in Durban, which is ranked 88 out of the 150 global cities surveyed, surged by 3.9 percent between the second quarter of 2016 and the second quarter of 2017.

Cape Town and Johannesburg, ranked 139 and 146 respectively, achieved a contraction of  2.1 per cent and 5.1 per cent.

In 2015 the New York Times featured Durban as 7th on its 52 places to go.

In March, the international Mercer’s 19th Quality of Living survey named Durban the top City in South Africa – with the highest quality of life – for a third consecutive year.
