Michael has outstanding leadership skills

Westville Senior Primary School has chosen Grade 7 learner, Michael Maddocks, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

MICHAEL Maddocks, a Grade 7 learner, has been chosen as Westville Senior Primary’s SPAR Star of the Month.

Michael was recently selected for the KZN’s Sharks 7’s rugby team.

His outstanding leadership qualities at school resulted in him being chosen by his peers as house captain, swimming captain and athletics captain.

Michael plays rugby and football for the 1st team, and was awarded the Victor Ludorum trophy for his achievements on sports day.

His teachers describe him as confident and helpful.

Michael’s favourite subject is history and his favourite sport is, without hesitation, rugby.

He is highly competitive and completely focused on his goals.

He trains at the gym every afternoon and maintains a strict, healthy diet.

In his spare time, he likes to play the guitar and the drums.

He even had a part in the annual school production, where he performed an impressive solo rap item.

Michael has entered this month’s Amashova cycle race, and he will travel with the rugby team on a sport tour to Ireland in December.

Carryn Maher, the school’s media liaison officer, said: “WSPS is proud of Michael. He has impeccable manners and is an excellent ambassador for our school.”
