#CrimeStats: Your car is now safer in Queenburgh than it was a year ago

According to the stats from Malvern and Bellair police stations in Queensburgh, carjacking and the theft of motor vehicles have decreased by 31.6 per cent and 7.9 per cent respectively.

POLICE Minister Fikile Mbalula released crime statistics for the financial years 2016/2017 today and they revealed a decrease of crime in the country by 1.8 per cent.

Crime has decreased nationally and the stats from Malvern and Bellair police stations in Queensburgh,  reveal that carjacking and the theft of motor vehicles have decreased by 31.6 per cent and 7.9 per cent respectively.

 

Other statistics show that murder cases have remained the same at four at Malvern SAPS and increased by five cases at Bellair SAPS.

Sexual crimes 

Malvern: +11 per cent

Bellair: -25 per cent

Robbery with aggravating circumstances 

Malvern: +10.9 per cent

Bellair: +6.6 per cent

Burglary (residential) 

Malvern: -29.7 per cent

Bellair: -0.6 per cent

Burglary (non-residential) 

Malvern: +50.9 per cent

Bellair: + 15.4 per cent

Drinking and driving

Malvern: +27.7 per cent

Bellair: -19.4 per cent
