Hillcrest Conservancy to host wildflower weekend

Dr Marlies Craig will present an interesting talk on "Learning Nature with Insects" at 10am on Saturday.

HILLCREST Conservancy are hosting a Wildflower Weekend at Springside Nature Reserve, 93 Springside Road in Hillcrest on Saturday, 14 and Sunday, 15 October from 10am to 2pm each day.

The Botanical Society will have indigenous plants for sale. Good rains will ensure a good Spring planting. There will be guided walks through the reserve with knowledgeable guides, looking at the flora of the reserve. These walks are suitable for all ages. Walks start at 10am and 11am on each day.

Dr Marlies Craig will present an interesting talk on “Learning Nature with Insects” at 10am on Saturday. There will also be a short talk on alien invasive plants at noon each day.

An ideal outing for the entire family into one of Hillcrest’s hidden gems. Take along a picnic or braai and make a day of it.

A donation of R30 including tea or coffee will go a long way to helping Hillcrest Conservancy achieve their conservation goals.
