Jurie’s awareness journey has just begun

Only four months into his journey and Jurie has already clocked in just over 7 000km.

FORMER Hillcrest resident, Jurie Botha, began a 40 000km adventure four months ago to raise funds for the Jes Foord Foundation (JFF).

He is now in Argentina and has clocked more than 7 000km. He has experienced a few incredible moments but has also tackled a few difficult challenges.

He has pushed through so he can achieve his goal of being the first South African to cycle the distance of the equator in record time and to raise funds for the JFF.

It’s an Amazing South African project that local business owners can be a part of through their support and contributions.

The owner of Curves Hillcrest, Cindy Stevenson, said, “I have had the privilege of meeting Jes Foord and working alongside her incredible staff and foundation recently. Both her and her foundation are doing amazing work across the country.

“Due to much-needed ongoing funding, we have chosen to support the Cycle South Against Rape initiative and have already had fellow Curves clubs in Africa come on board. This makes us incredibly proud.”

His goal is the raise R250 000 in 20 months and is currently on R5 250. His project is not only an exciting one to follow, but it can make the difference between being a rape victim or a rape survivor.

Details of the Jes Foord foundation projects can be found on her website www.jff.org.za.

“Well done to Jurie for being the change he wants to see in the world,” said Cindy.
