Prioritise your family’s safety this holiday

In case of a medical emergency, you can dial 084 124 anywhere in South Africa.

SCHOOL holidays have arrived and there is no better time to relax with your family at home or enjoy outdoor activities.

Whatever your plans may be, ER24 is urging everyone to ensure they are safe.

This can be a little stressful if you have restless children in your vehicle. However, the easier solution would be to keep them occupied with toys while strapped to their seats.

Despite the safety of passengers inside, the exterior components of the vehicle can pose a hazard.

Therefore, use headlights while you are travelling even during daylight hours. This will ensure other motorists are able to see your vehicle from a distance.

Keep water on hand while you are travelling. Stay well hydrated with water is an essential part of the journey for you and your passengers.

Do not forget to have your chronic prescriptions filled before you go on holiday; take your medication with you and remember to take it at the right intervals.

Once you arrive at your destination, ensure young children are not alone while swimming in the pool, in the sea, rivers or dams. Always have your children supervised irrespective if they can swim or not.

Whether you are staying at home or will be out of town during the school holiday, familiarise yourself with the emergency numbers in your area.
