Water-saving learners get award

Water Explorer is a fun, inspiring and educational programme that empowers thousands of students across the world to lead action on water issues for their school and communities.

NORTHDENE Preparatory School was named Water Explorer July Team of the month and awarded a camera.

The team was also given the opportunity to host a water festival to share the programme with parents as well the community at the school’s winter festival.

“We educated people about saving water and many of them pledged to save water in their own homes,” said teacher, Michelle Dennison.

Water Explorer is a fun, inspiring and educational programme that empowers thousands of students across the world to lead action on water issues for their school and communities.

The team was in the top five in South Africa and a team of four learners represented the school in the nationals at the Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve.

“Our whole team has more than 50 learners from Grade 4 to 7,” said Dennison.
