Unite and support anti-human trafficking walk

The aim of the walk is to raise awareness on human trafficking.

RESIDENTS are invited to gear up for a walk against human trafficking on 23 September at Greenhub, Blue Lagoon in Durban.

The aim of the walk, hosted by The Umgeni Community Empowerment Centre (UCEC) is to raise awareness on human trafficking and raise funds for the Shiloh House for abused women, children and trafficked victims.

“We see the need for this awareness walk because of the recent increase in human trafficking cases in our country. There isn’t enough awareness on this topic. A lot of people see human trafficking as a far-fetched myth that only happens in developing countries, they do not think it could happen to them,” said Thami Ntimbane, from UCEC.

Local celebrities, rugby icon Pat Lambie, Miss Junior South Africa 2017, Simara Moodley, Super Middleweight Boxing Champion, Lee Dyer and Dave Gusselli from ECR, will take part in the 5km walk.
