A BIG thank you

People can get involved with the home in different ways including fundraising, volunteering and hosting a child.

ETHELBERT Child and Youth Care Centre hosted a ‘thank you’ breakfast on Thursday, 31 August to show their appreciation to their supporters and volunteers.

Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre is a residential place of safety that cares for 65 children who have been removed from their parents because of sexual and / or physical abuse, severe neglect, abandonment, and those orphaned because of HIV/Aids.

“We decided to have the breakfast to thank the people who play a large role in helping us to give quality child care. Service providers who we turn to for help, such as dentists, doctors and specialists, help us to give our children the best medical care that is available to us. The trusts and foundations that give us annual donations help us to make ends meet by filling the 65 per cent gap created from a shortfall in government grants. All of these people – in one way or another – have become a part of our team, helping us to give first class child care,” said PRO, Gaylene Allen.
