Man dies in Shongweni collision

Sixteen other people were injured when a taxi collided with a car in Milkway Road.

ONE person was killed and 16 others injured when a taxi and a car collided in Milkyway Road near Shongweni today (17 August).

Rescue Care and Meditech paramedics were called to the serious collision just after 7am.

“They found that a taxi and a car had collided leaving multiple people with various injuries. More ambulances and Advanced Life Support units were dispatched to assist with the multiple injuries. Unfortunately, a man from the taxi sustained extensive injuries and was declared deceased on scene,” said Ceron Lennox from Rescue Care Paramedics.

The 16 people who sustained various injuries were treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.
