Robber threatens to kill child in Alverstone home invasion

The man ransacked the home and stole a variety of goods, including a laptop, camera and two tablets.

AN Alverstone mother and her children survived a harrowing home invasion this morning.

Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the woman and her children were awoken by an intruder in their Alverstone Road home at about 4.45am.

The intruder was wearing dark clothing and a beanie and was armed with a knife. Mathios said the man threatened to kill one of the woman’s children.

“He ransacked her bedroom and fled with a sewing machine, two tablets, a laptop, a camera and other valuables,” said Mathios. “It is unclear how he gained entry onto the premises as there were no visible signs of forced entry. No injuries were reported.”
