eThekwini Municipality apologies for refuse collection disruption

DSW employees will work through the weekend to clear the backlog.

THE eThekwini Municipality has issued a statement to inform people about a disruption in the refuse collection service at the New Germany Depot.

Normal waste collection in the Inner West Region was affected since yesterday, 3 August. Affected areas are Clermont, New Germany, Westville, Pinetown, Reservoir Hills, Cowies Hill and surroundings.

“Discussions between the employees, Cleansing and Solid Waste management, and labour agencies are currently underway. It is anticipated that the service will commence before the end of business day today (4 August). Cleansing and Solid Waste employees will work through the weekend to clear the backlog,” said eThekwini Municipality head of communication, Tozi Mthethwa.
