Help NPO create dignity for elderly

The local non-profit organisation, the 31 Club, appeals to residents to donate much-needed toiletries for its Love Bags.

THE 31 Club has launched its campaign drive to gather much-needed toiletry supplies for its outreach projects.

The non-profit organisation will use these donations to fill its Love Bags, which will be distributed to those in need.

“Many elderly people struggle to keep themselves well-groomed and this creates a loss of dignity, which in turn makes them feel like giving up on life. By providing them with basic toiletries they are able to lift their heads up high and achieve a sense of self-worth,” said the club’s co-chairman, Ann Osborne.

The organisation hosts various events throughout the year to raise funds for the numerous charities they support.

A few of the organisations that have previously received Love Bags include TAFTA, Bill Buchanan, Natal Settlers, Issy Geshen Lamontville Home, Hillcrest Government Hospital and MOTHWA Haven. Other supported charities include those dedicated to animals, children, AIDS, mentally and physically challenged as well as skill upliftment.
