Barking mad bargains at SPCA’s thrift store

You can either donate your good quality unwanted goods at the local thrift store, or you could purchase a few of the lovely items for yourself. However you choose to support the organisation's store, you will be empowering the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

IT was a morning of celebration as the Kloof and Highway SPCA was proud to open the doors to its newest thrift shop recently.

Located at Pinecrest Centre, the store opened to much fanfare as it was teeming with customers looking to grab a few of the fantastic bargains adorning the shelves.

“Come and visit us as you never know what treasures you may find,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s marketing manager, Lisa Mörck.

Donations of unwanted goods are also accepted at the shop to ensure its sustainability. All of the goods sold will benefit animal welfare in the community.

Opening times are from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, on Saturday from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday from 9am to 4pm.

This is the non-profit organisation’s third thrift store and provides it with income to help it continue with important animal welfare work.

“We appreciate donations of your unwanted items which we can sell in our shops including cutlery, crockery, ornaments, glassware, electrical appliances, household items, computer equipment, books, toys, linen, clothing, music items, antiques, collectables, material, sewing accessories, jewellery, furniture, tools, garden furniture, garden pots, plants and garden accessories. The list goes on and on,” said Lisa.

Donated goods can be dropped off at the thrift shops or at the Kloof and Highway SPCA, daily.

“We are also able to collect donations from the Kloof and Highway area,” she said.
