Two workers injured as Cowies Hill trench collapses

Both men suffered serious injuries to their legs.

TWO men were seriously injured this morning when the trench they were working in collapsed along Alida Road in Cowies Hill.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said paramedics arrived on the scene and found that the two men had already been pulled from the trench by their colleagues. Both men were found lying a few metres away from the trench.

He said both men suffered serious injuries to their legs.

“Paramedics treated the men and provided them with pain-relief medication before they were transported to RK Khan Provincial Hospital. Local authorities will investigate,” said Meiring.
