DOZENS of supporters flooded the Kearsney College stands to catch three nail-biting rugby games, all held to raise much-needed funds for little Jaxon Bartman.
The 16-month-old has been in and out of hospital for check-ups and operations. He was diagnosed with megaureter and at seven months went in for his first invasive operation.
In January this year he went for his follow up scan which showed no change in the hydronephrosis. A grade 5 reflux was picked up. He went in for his second operation to correct the reflux but more news was awaiting the Bartman family.
An obstruction was found that caused swelling and further damage to his kidneys and bladder walls.
With 10 long hospital stays in less than 12 months, the family’s medical savings are depleted and their medical aid does not cover Jaxon’s chronic medication.
