#youth4kloof clean green

Coordinator of #youth4kloof, Sandra Wickee, encourages youngsters in Kloof to start a Youth Desk under KKBA and think of ideas on how to get their peers to help maintain their environment and be ambassadors for KKBA.

THE Keep Kloof Beautiful Association (KKBA) rallied learners from local schools to participate in the first #Youth4kloof morning of hard work cleaning the area.

The participants cleaned signs around the two shopping malls in Village Road and created a new indigenous garden under the direction of professional landscaper, Chris Dalzell.

They also picked up litter along the railway line along the Church Road stretch.

Stoker’s Arms gave free refreshments to the thirsty teens and at the end of the morning they were treated to a well-deserved lunch sponsored by Roses Coffee Shop in Village Mall and received certificates marking their great effort.

Learners are asked to email secretary@keepkloofbeautiful.org.za by 21 July if they would like to be considered for doing community service hours for their school syllabus requirements.

“We will randomly select eight learners per month up to December and, after they have completed work in Kloof assisting our committee’s work, issue them with official letters of community service,” Wicky said. Contact Sandra Wicky on 083 312 6654 for more details.

KKBA thanks sponsors Neutrog, The Greenman, The Spill Doctor, The Print Room, Arnolds Cartage and municipality’s parks department.
