Camaraderie comes naturally to Lorenzo

Forest View Primary School's SPAR Star of the Month - June 2017.

FOREST View Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 7 learner, Lorenzo Stevens.

With the Comrades Marathon that took place this month, the school picked a learner of their own who embodies the spirit of Comrades. Cross country training takes place very early each morning before school starts and more often than not, the winter mornings are dark and cold, but Lorenzo never misses a practice.

He has a positive attitude when he is confronted with challenges and has the ability to push himself during training. The races on a Friday afternoon have paid off over the cross country season. Lorenzo is also a prefect at the school as his character and leadership abilities are very obvious out on the cross country course, where he is seen encouraging and supporting the younger runners who now look up to him. Lorenzo has impeccable manners, and is always helpful and polite to teachers, parents and guests from other schools.

“Well done, Lorenzo, we know your character, dedication, perseverance and leadership skills will see you go from strength to strength in any endeavour you put your mind to, even if it is the Comrades Marathon one day,” said the school’s public relations officer, Jean Montile.
