Man arrested for the murder of his stepdaughter (2)

The body of the little girl was found buried in a shallow grave in the bushes in Hammarsdale.

HAMMARSDALE police arrested a 35-year-old man for the murder of his two-year-old stepdaughter.

The little girl went missing on Thursday, 15 June and her stepfather went to the police to report the child missing

“Police immediately began their investigation and with the help of the community they searched for the child and nothing was found.”

“Further police investigation led to the arrest of the stepfather and on Saturday afternoon he led police to where the victim was buried. The girl was buried in a shallow grave in the bushes behind the  Hammarsdale industrial area,” said Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Bongumusa Manqele.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrate’s Court soon.
