Only garden refuse allowed at Wyebank Garden Landfill Site

There are four other DSW Landfill Sites listed for you to dispose of waste.

THE Wyebank Garden Landfill Site, located on 1 Fernleigh Road, has reached its capacity and can no longer accept waste for disposal.

eThekwini Municipality’s head of communications, Tozi Mthethwa, said the city’s Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit has in the interim converted the Wyebank site into a temporary Garden Transfer Site, until environmental legislative requirements are approved.

“The new temporary garden site has been designed to service the residential community of the western areas by placing skips on-site to assist the community to dispose of their garden refuse correctly,” said Mthethwa.

He encouraged residents to use their own vehicles to transport the refuse to the site. On arrival, staff members will direct them to the correct area to drop off their waste.

“The temporary garden site is strictly for garden refuse only and each resident is allowed to dispose one load per week of a standard bakkie volume,” said Mthethwa.
