Donate now to help flood and fire victims
Your contribution to this cause will be used to directly assist those who have been affected by either the Cape Town storm or Knysna fires.
PARTNER with the Salvation Army and help them assist the victims of floods and fires in the Western Cape.
It is simple, all you need to do is send an SMS with the word “Fire” or “Storm” to 42290. This will enable the organisation to provide help to those whose lives have been impacted by the heavy storms in the Western Cape and the fires in the Knysna area. Each SMS costs R30.

Major Carin Holmes, PR secretary of the Southern Africa Territory, said the organisation will ensure that all contributions received in this way are used for relief in these areas.
“The fire and storms have wreaked havoc in the Cape and Knysna. Many people have lost their homes, their possessions and sadly some have lost their lives. Often people are not able to donate goods but still want to help,” she said.
In addition to the SMS line, the Salvation Army has set up a GivenGain portal for those wishing to donate funds to help the families and individuals who have been displaced and are in need during this time.

For in-kind donations, the greatest needs lie with warm clothing, blankets, pillows, non-perishable food, bottled water, old furniture, linen, crockery and cutlery.
