St Marys team net 2-1 victory

The local team won the regional tournament and have qualified to compete in the SPAR KZN School Girls' Hockey Tournament.

THE Durban Girls’ College 1st hockey team hosted St Mary’s DSG for an intense and competitive game of hockey recently.

Until this fixture, both teams had remained unbeaten in the Coastals League.

The game lived up to expectations, and the crowd was on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

The Saints edged College out 2 – 1 and both of the goals scored by the local team were made by Grade 11 learner, Hannah Shirley.

St Mary’s DSG, Kloof and Durban Girls’ College are set to meet again as they both won their respective regional tournaments and qualified to play in the SPAR KZN School Girls’ Hockey Tournament, hosted by St Mary’s, on 29 and 30 July.
