A GANG of five men stormed a home in Alwyn Plane in Cowies Hill and assaulted the home owner this afternoon.
“The gang derailed the gate, forced open the front door and assaulted the resident while demanding valuables and the code for her alarm system,” said Blue Security’s media and community liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
The men stole a flat screen TV, cellphones and jewellery.
Netcare 911 paramedics attended the scene and took the woman to a hospital. Mathios requested for assistance from crime scene debrief counsellors.
“It was unclear whether they (the robbers) were armed,” noted Mathios.
Members of the SAPS Provincial Task Team arrived at the Cowies Hill home and will be investigating.
