‘Critical’ Field’s Hill crash victim dies

The man tragically died at the hospital.

ONE of the commuters who was injured in this morning’s Field’s Hill taxi crash has died.

Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson confirmed a few minutes ago that the ‘critically injured patient’ had died at the hospital.

The accident took place at the Richmond Road off-ramp earlier today – the exact same spot where 24 people were killed when a truck ploughed into five vehicles,  in 2013.

Jamieson said about five other patients suffered fractures in the collision while the rest sustained relatively minor injuries.

Andreas Mathios of Blue Security reported earlier that 20 people had been injured in the collision.
