PITLOCHRY Primary School has chosen Peyton Govender from Grade 7D as its SPAR Star of the Month.
Peyton has been interested in badminton since Grade 4. She has represented both her school and KZN since Grade 6.
Now that she is in Grade 7 she is training privately.
In 2016 she represented KZN Badminton in the U13 age group and her team was placed sixth in the SA Championships in Benoni.
This year, Peyton represented KZN in the U15 team.
Over the years, she has been voted Miss SA and Miss Cutie-Pie at the Championship Fun Awards.
At school Peyton is an all-rounder. She boasts an academic aggregate of 79 per cent and achieved a gold certificate in the 2017 SA Computer Olympiad.
She represented her school in athletics in both high jump and long jump and was selected as house captain for swimming.
Staff at the school also described her as a friendly girl, whose leadership qualities have seen her selected as a school monitor.
Peyton is a shining example of a good role model.
