Four armed men follow bank customer to Pinetown Spar parking

An undisclosed amount of money was taken. This story has been amended.

ROY Sheodin, the manager of Knowles SuperSPAR, confirmed that a couple, who had withdrawn an undisclosed amount of cash from a Moodie Street bank,  was accosted in the SPAR parking lot by the armed suspects.

“The man who was robbed approached a security guard informing him of the robbery and then he called the police. To date neither the police nor the victim has contacted me to view surveillance footage,” said Sheodin this morning.

Earlier reports from BLUE Security confirmed that four armed men accosted and robbed a bank customer of an undisclosed amount of cash on Tuesday afternoon.

Andreas Mathios, Blue Security marketing and community liaison officer said the robbery occurred at 3.45pm at the Knowles SuperSPAR parking lot.

He said four men wearing balaclavas jumped out of a white GTI and robbed the couple at gunpoint. One suspect was armed with a rifle while the other three brandished handguns.

SAPS were on scene.
