LOCAL churches in Pinetown united with the community and police for an awareness prayer walk against crime earlier today.

More than 100 participants gathered at Payne Street opposite Knowles SuperSPAR at 9am and then proceeded through Pinetown.

W/O Muzi Maphumulo, communications officer at the Pinetown SAPS said the walk was embraced by the presence of the police drill and police band. The churches also partnered with the SAPS and CPF for this event.
