Temporary deviation on Crompton/Qashana Khuzwayo Road

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.

MOTORISTS and residents advised of a temporary deviation at the Crompton Street/Qashana Khuzwayo (Shepstone) Road intersection in New Germany from 7am on Saturday, 1 April until 5pm on Sunday, 2 April.

This deviation is being done to accommodate the laying of a new water pipe across Crompton Street during this time period.

Motorists will have access to Crompton Street from Qashana Khuzwayo Road, but the road will be reduced from four lanes to two. One-half of Crompton Road will be closed and traffic will be placed on the other half (as shown in the diagram below as part 1).

Once the work has been completed on the first half, traffic will be placed onto the previously closed area until the whole job is complete (shown as part 2).

Motorists can also access Qashana Khuzwayo via Cherry Lane.

Motorists are requested to use the alternative routes on the affected days to avoid delays.
