20 injured in Kwadangezi taxi crash

The exact cause of the collision is not known as yet but local authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.

TWENTY people were injured this morning when two taxis collided at the Old Richmond and Acorn Road intersection in Kwadangezi, outside Pinetown.

ER24 paramedics, along with various other services arrived at the scene and found both vehicles in the middle of the road. Both taxis were damaged in the collision.
Several passengers from both vehicles were found walking around at the scene.

” We assessed the patients and found that approximately 20 people were injured in the collision. Assessment of the patients showed that their injuries ranged from minor to moderate,” said spokesperson, Russel Meiring.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to various provincial hospitals.

The exact cause of the collision will be investigated.
