THE Open Door Crisis Care Centre invites Highway residents to its informative fund-raiser morning on Tuesday 21 March from 9.30am at La Pizza Pazza at the Delcairn Centre in Kloof.

The special guest speakers are Dr Monique Esmer who will talk about the facts on pornography and the challenges when addressing the issues.

The director of the NPO, Thora Mansfield will inform guests on understanding grooming and ways to empower parents on how to protect their children.

The final speaker is Val Melis and she will talk about the dangers of the internet and sexting.

“The seminar seeks to sensitise students, educators, parents and the community about children’s rights and to protect children from pornography through legal framework and grooming,” said Mansfield.

Tables will have jugs of orange juice and water jugs filled with lemon and strawberry.

The first course is an antipasto platter served with fresh ciabatta bread and a garden salad and the main course is a choice of fillet steak served with a side.

To end off the day on a high note, there will be a dessert table to satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

There will also be an auction of an original piece by local artist, Giffy Duminy.

The cost is R300 per person and includes the three-course meal. Booking is essential.
