WATCH: Crompton Hospital is a no-go due to protest action

Access to the premises has been suspended and police are on scene to monitor the situation.

CHAOS has erupted outside Life the Crompton Hospital as a group of 4o to 50 protesters have gathered to demand wage increases.

Reports have surfaced on social media that a bomb had been set off at this morning’s protest, however, Andreas Mathios, the community and media liaison for Blue Security TV, said the allegations were false and “irresponsible”.

According to Mathios, the protest action has been peaceful, however, the front main emergency entrance has been closed off.

“The only vehicles that are allowed in are emergency response by the ambulance authorities,” he said.

Access to the premises has been suspended. Police are on scene and are monitoring the situation.

Updates to follow.

NEHAWU union representative, Chris Ndlovu, talks about the protest action.
