Don your green gear to celebrate St Patrick’s Day
Toast to the Irish on St Patrick’s Day and encourage everyone to don their green gear on Friday, 17 March.
MY Chef’s Sheldon Sahli has come with some fun ideas for an Irish themed dinner to celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Friday, 17 March.
Decorate the dining room table any way that you wish – as long as there is a pop of green. Try incorporating four leaved clovers, gold coins and even some green umbrellas on each glass to add some fun. One could go simple with a white table cloth, green place mats, white crockery and some fun little Irish accents.
For a quick and easy St Paddy’s Day inspired centrepiece, fill a clear vase with soda water and add a drop of green food colouring to it, or a little potjie pot filled with gold coins. Similarly, one could add a green runner along the centre of the table and throw down some gold coin chocolates. Serviettes on each plate could also be a main attraction using green serviettes and a black and gold buckle as a serviette holder, made with halved toilet roll inners.
