R40 000 raised at CROW Valentine’s feast

Every year CROW rescues, rehabilitates and releases more than 3000 orphaned, injured and displaced wild animals.

THE Centre For Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) held its first Valentine’s Day Medieval Feast on Tuesday, 14 February.

Hosted at Greensleeves Medieval Kingdom in Hillcrest, guests were treated to a four-course meal, song and dance.

“On the evening, a few lucky guests went home with fantastic spot prizes. Amanzimtoti’s Chalene Cardoso was the raffle prize winner of a three-night stay at Drakensberg Sun Resort. R40 000 was raised at the event,” CROW’s marketing and communications officer, Sharl Els.

The funds will go towards CROW’s work in the treatment and care of injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife admitted to the centre.

Els said it was great to see about140 guests at the feast, all in support of a good cause.

”I would like to thank everyone who dressed up, took part in the evening and made it an enjoyable function. “Without events such as this one, CROW would not be where we are today,” he said.

The CROW team thanked all prize sponsors who gave generously towards the event, as well as the staff at Greensleeves Medieval Kingdom for helping put on a memorable fundraiser and for the superb venue.
