Doctors get arty for charity
Medical field practitioners will have their artwork on display at the Hillcrest Private Hospital from 17 February.
PREPARE to be wowed at the KwaZulu-Natal Doctors in Art Exhibition at the Hillcrest Private Hospital from Friday 17 to Friday 3 March.
In 2007, Dr Peter Breedt initiated and co-ordinated the first exhibition with a group of about eight artists who were all in the medical profession. Three years ago, after a break of three years, Hillcrest Private Hospital was proud to once again host the 2013 Doctors in Art exhibition.
This has now become an annual event and the list of artists from various medical fields grows in length each year. The talented artists whose professions range from general practitioners, specialists and physiotherapists to pharmacists and nurses are also painters, sculptors and photographers from the Highway and greater Durban areas.
The exhibit is in the main foyer of the hospital and a portion of the proceeds from the sold items will be donated to Focus on iThemba, a local non-profit organisation.
