Wanted Hillcrest robbers nabbed

It is believed the two men were wanted for a string of house robberies in the Hillcrest area.

TWO men aged 21 and 24 who were wanted for housebreak-in and theft cases in the Hillcrest area were arrested last Friday.

Hillcrest SAPS communications officer, Cst Ndumiso Manqele said Hillcrest detectives were searching for the two men for a while.

“The two men were arrested during an undercover operation. They have been identified as the ones who have been terrorising Hillcrest residents, especially in Waterfall. They were found in possession of two plasma TVs,” said Manqele.

They appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and were remanded in custody for further investigations to determine if they are linked to other cases.

Hillcrest station commander, Col Zama Mabaso commended the good work done by the police and said crime will not be tolerated in Hillcrest.

“We as the Hillcrest police believe that by arresting these men, the crime will decrease in our area.”

She urged the community to always report cases at the Hillcrest SAPS on 031 765 9100 or 086 001 0111.
