WATCH: Hillcrest motorcade drives home toxic stench awareness

More than 40 cars formed part of the convoy, which took to the streets earlier today.

UPPER Highway residents have taken to the streets of Dassenhoek, Kwandengezi and Shongweni to create awareness and educate residents in the rural areas about the smelly air they are breathing.

More than 40 cars formed part of the convoy. 

Residents were encouraged to join the toxic trek legal protest March through Hillcrest on Saturday. Participants were urged to take along boards and posters, and wear red and white T-shirts to support the march.

To take part in the toxic trek, people must send their full names and numbers to 078 936 4103.  Only 1 000 people are permitted to participate.
