Food meets fine art and wine

Cargo Hold, at uShaka Marine World, has teamed up with the Artisan Gallery, well known for its artworks, created by established as well as the finest up and coming South African artists, primarily from KZN.

DON’T miss the upcoming monthly food meets on Saturday, 28 January from 6pm at Cargo Hold, where it won’t be just about good wine, spectacular fare but also an opportunity to appreciate the arts.

Cargo Hold, at uShaka Marine World, has teamed up with the Artisan Gallery, well known for its artworks created by established and up-and-coming South African artists, primarily from KZN. Their displayed art featuring work from a wide variety of disciplines, both traditional and contemporary, including fine art, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork and textiles.

The works of art which will be displayed at Cargo Hold on the night will include ceramics by John Shirley, known for his quality bone china, paint works by John Smith, fine art from Thami Mnyele, painted works by Nhlanhla Chonco and sculptured work in wood, bronze and bone by Carl Roberts.

Onarrival, guests can expect a sorbet of pineapple granite and pina colada foam before being directed to their seat for the evening. Sip on chardonnay while enjoying a starter of salmon, scallop and prawn. This will be followed by a selection of main courses and a decadent dessert.

The various works of arts can bought on the night. Cost for the evening is R340 per person. Book now as eating is limited.
