Seven distinctions for PBHS dux and runner-up dux

Principal of the school, Raysellan Naidoo said they will have to work harder this year to improve the results.

PINETOWN Boys’ High School achieved a pass rate of 90 per cent, a drop from last year’s 94 per cent.

The school’s top achievers was the Dux, Tolulanimi Adewumi and runner-up Dux, Suveer Amikachander who both received seven distinctions each.

Tolulanimi achieved distinctions in English, maths, life orientation, accounting, geography, life sciences and physical science.

Suveer achieved distinctions for English, maths, life orientation, accounting, Afrikaans life sciences and physical science.

Other top learners were Jabulisa Mhlane who got six distinctions for English, IsiZulu, maths, life orientation, accounting and life sciences.

Lindokuhle Khuzwayo, Quwyn Pillay, Airon Van Wyk, Nsikelelo Dlamini, Sanele Shange achieved four distinctions each.

Khwezi Kunene, Nkululeko Makitini, Siphelele Myeazi and Mpilo Mbonambi received three distinctions each.

Principal of the school, Raysellan Naidoo said he was a bit disappointed by the drop in the results.

“We had intervention programmes and lots of extra classes last year, but it always a bit difficult working with the boys.

“We will have to work harder this year, go back to the drawing board and find different and new strategies to improve our results,” he said.
