IN an attempt to break up an altercation between a group of teenagers, a security guard at Watercrest Mall was attacked by one of the teens yesterday afternoon.
Concerned shopper, Faith Humphreys, took to the Upper Highway Info Facebook page to query the situation.
“Watercrest Mall had an incident this afternoon (5 January) involving teenagers and security guards. Did anyone see what actually took place whether the teens were assaulted or if they assaulted the guards?” (sic)
Elizabeth Roux, spokesman for Watercrest Mall, responded to the Facebook post.
“The teenagers were having an altercation. Our security stepped in to neutralise the situation. The teenage boy then attacked our security guard. Parents were contacted and the teenagers were collected. You’re always welcome to call us directly in future to clarify any incidents on 031 763 1551. Security is on site 24/7 on this phone line.”
