WGHS celebrates 590 distinctions

One learner had eight distinctions and 21 learners had seven distinctions each.

WESTVILLE Girls’ High School celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate in the 2016 National Senior Certificate matric results.

According to Ms Catherine Raw, principal at the school, they had 219 Bachelor passes out of 227 pupils. The school also achieved a total of 590 distinctions.

One learner, Cornelia Weber had eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, maths, life orientation, history, drama, science and German. The school also had 21 learners to achieved seven distinctions each.

“We are delighted with the outstanding Grade 12 results of 2016 at Westville Girls’ High School. Not only have the learners maintained the 100 per cent pass rate of which we are so proud but achieved a 96.5 per cent bachelors pass and 3.5 per cent diploma pass rate.
“The successes of the Grade 12s of 2016 are due to their hard work and dedication, the passion for education evident in our staff and the support and love of their parents,” said Raw.
