Stolen cars found abandoned in the Durban CBD

One of the cars was stolen in Amanzimtoti last year and the other was hijacked in Mariannhill last night.

A SILVER Volkswagen Polo which was hijacked in Mariannhill on Tuesday night was recovered in the Durban CBD.

According to Kyle van Reenen, Marshall Security marketing manager, their Special Operations Team assisted in the tracking and recovery of the Polo and a Hyundai 100.

“A signal for the Polo was noted shortly after 1pm in the Durban Central area. The car was fitted with a satellite tracking device and a signal was found to be repeating in St George’s Street in the busy Durban CBD,” said .

Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team along with Matrix Vehicle Tracking recovery teams, tracked the car and found it abandoned in a parking lot in the area.

“During an inspection of other vehicles in the lot, a Hyundai H100 which was stolen in Amanzimtoti last year was also discovered,” he said.

Both cars were secured on scene and handed over to the SAPS. No arrests have been made.
