Five injured in rear-end collision

A woman was put on a manual ventilator for her critical injuries.

FIVE people were injured in a rear-end collision between two cars on the M7 east bound before the Bellville Road Bridge just before 8am this morning. Rescue Care Paramedics found one person in a critical condition at the accident scene.

“Four occupants were found to be entrapped in the wreckage. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise them in the car.”

“A woman in her 30s sustained critical injuries and paramedics placed her on a manual ventilator. Once all the injured had been stabilised and extricated from the wreckage they were transported to various hospitals,” said Advanced Life Support Paramedic, Ceron Lennox.

The cause of the collision is unknown, however, it is alleged that a vehicle had broken down and the second vehicle crashed into it. SAPS were on the scene investigating.
