Little One charity spreads love

More than 40 cuddly toys and blankets were also donated at the event.

THE Little One charity hosted a Christmas party for children with cerebral palsy at St Mary’s Hospital.

Thirteen prams and a wheelchair were donated with the help of parents from around Durban. The charity organisation also donated 40 blankets and cuddly toys. The children were treated to cakes, juices and yogurt.

Little One was founded by Winston Park resident, Justine Rae in March this year and the focus is on children from newborns to six-year-olds. Justine said, the stuff which they donate to various charities is donated to them by moms around Durban.

“One woman from the upper Highway area knitted beanies and socks for the children. With the help from volunteers, we also visited the paediatric ward where we distributed puzzles and toys. There was also 40 bags of clothes which were given to new moms in the labour ward,” said Justine.

St Mary’s CEO, Dr Bonginkosi Buthelezi said the hospital was happy about this donation.

“We often focus on ourselves and families during this time, it is a good thing that there are people like Justine who are eager to share and show other people love,” said Buthelezi.
