Girl (17) raped by ex-boyfriend
The victim was allegedly forced to have a bath to get rid of the evidence.
TWO friends aged 18 and 21 appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 9 December for rape.
According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele, it is alleged on Tuesday, 6 December at about 10am, the victim (17) was on her way home from her sister’s residence when she met her ex-boyfriend who was accompanied by his friend.
“The ex-boyfriend offered to give her back her cellphone which he took the previous day. He then took the victim to a flat at KK hostel where he said the phone was. It is alleged that when they arrived at the hostel, the ex-boyfriend locked the door and the victim was raped by both men. The victim was forced to take a bath to get rid of the evidence,” said Manqele.
A case of rape was opened at KwaDabeka police station and on Wednesday, 7 December both men were arrested and charged for rape.
The two were remanded in custody and will appear again in court on Thursday, 14 December.
