Raid lead SAPS to R50 K drug find

A couple was found in possession of 50g of Cocaine powder, 30g of Crystal Meth and 30 Ecstasy tablets.

A RECENT drug bust operation conducted by the police, led to the arrest of a man and his fiancé at their home in Rossburgh. The eThekwini Inner South intelligence-driven operation, together with eThekwini Inner South Task Team pounced on the drug dealers who were found in possession of a variety of drugs with a street value of R50 000.

“The foreign national drug dealer and his partner were arrested at their home in Rossburgh after the couple was found in possession of 50g of Cocaine powder, 30g of Crystal Meth and 30 Ecstasy tablets,” said eThekwini Inner South Cluster Communications Officer, Priya Nunkumar.

The duo was charged for being in possession of drugs. The suspects appeared in Durban Magistrate’s Court last week and were released on bail of R10 000.

EThekwini Inner South Cluster Commander, Major General Nunkumar, commended police officers for their diligent work in apprehending two drug dealers. “We have a zero-tolerance approach on all drug dealers during this festive season, to ensure we have a drug free community,” he said.
