DSW staff on duty this festive season

People are reminded that DSW staff are strictly prohibited from touting for money or gifts from residents.

DURBAN Solid Waste refuse collection staff will be working throughout the festive season and people are encouraged to continue leaving their refuse for collection as normal.

This includes Christmas Day, 25 December and New Year’s Day, 1 January.

The DSW offices will be closed on 16, 17, 25 and 26 December as well as 1 and 2 January, 2017, but the operational staff will be on duty throughout the festive season, providing services to eThekwini residents.

People are reminded that DSW staff are strictly prohibited from touting for money or gifts from residents. Residents are also advised to be wary of con artists posing as municipal workers who have been known to solicit gifts.

Residents are urged to take the precaution of wrapping any glass in newspaper before disposing of it in refuse bags. This will reduce the chances of injuring staff during the collection process.
